Sustainable high-quality tourism was the motivation for the Ballyhoura Forest Holiday Homes self-catering complex which opened in 2000.
The architect-designed homes are spacious, with a unique character that compliments their mature woodland setting and are a real home from home. Built by local craftsmen using local wood and red sandstone, the homes are furnished using the materials of businesses and artists in nearby villages – the suites and curtains in Ballyorgan, the beds in Ballylanders, the built-in furniture in Kilfinane and Ballylanders, the silk paintings in Kilavullen and the nature photographs in Glenroe.
Get away from it all, unwind, relax, hear the birdsong, smell the new mown hay, observe the wildlife or indulge in your choice of activities, have a great value holiday with so much to do for free. It’s an ideal holiday spot for children, teenagers, young adults through to seniors.
Situated in Ballyhoura Country, renowned for it’s authentic rural living experience, iwith it’s wealth of built and living heritage and world class facilities for recreation in the countryside, the homes are centrally located for touring Cork, Limerick, Kerry, Clare, Tipperary and Waterford.
